Join Bolney Under Fives in celebrating Christmas this year with a sponsored Santa Fun Run on Saturday 15th December. Starting at the Eight Bells at 11am followed by brunch with Father Christmas at the Rawson Hall, from 11.30am.
The Christmas Fair then begins at 12 (til 2pm) with plenty of stalls and fun for all!

DIAMOND JUBILEE INAUGURAL WALK

PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION!

Sunday 28^th October 2012

There are two entry classes:  Adults and Children (up to 16).  There will be a prize for the best adult and best child’s photo.

To give you some idea, the judges will be judging against the following criteria:

·      Great composition (no heads cut off!)

·      Excellent detail (sharp focus, lots of content)

·      Funniest photo (funny faces, positions)

·      Most colourful  (be it colourful scenery or clothing etc.)

·      Best action shot (running, jumping, climbing etc.)

·      Spirit of our village and the day (let your imagination run wild!)

Photos can be of the landscape, plants, animals or people on the walk. 

Rules –

·      Photos MUST only be taken on the day itself...  any photos with snow will be disqualified!!

·      The deadline for entries is Sunday 4^th November 2012.

·      Photos need to be emailed to info@bolney.com and have the following additional information:

o  Subject: PHOTO COMPETITION

o  Body; please state:

§  Adults or Children

§  Photographer’s name (and age for children’s entries)

§  Optionally, you may include a description of the image eg where it was taken, who’s in the photo etc.

·      Disclaimer – by submitting photos to the competition, you grant permission for images to be used for any promotion of Bolney including the Bolney website, parish magazine, local clubs and societies. The winners will be contacted after judging and the results published.

Pantomime - your opportunity to get involved..

Pantomime

The Bolney Players will be staging their next local Panto (Snow White) in February 2013 at the Rawson Hall, Bolney. The production will run from Thursday 21^st February 2013 to Saturday  23^rd February 2013. This is the school half term week.

If anyone is interested in being involved, either on or off stage, please contact the Bolney Players to register your interest. There may not be parts for everyone, but as you know it is our usual approach to try to fit most volunteers into the production, by re-writing the script or as appropriate. As in other years we can accommodate a number of the younger generation, but places are not automatically available.

BOLNEY VILLAGE INAUGARAL DIAMOND JUBILEE WALK

On Sunday 28th October Walkers are asked to assemble at 10.30am on Batchelors Field for the inaugural walk of the permanent designated Diamond Jubilee Trail. Everyone welcome. The walk should finish around 1pm.

Bolney Under Fives are hosting a Foundation Level Makaton Signing course and would like to invite anyone with an interest to attend. Further information is available either on 07922092259 or at supervisor@bolneyunderfives.co.uk. The course costs £95 plus training manuals (£16) a competitive rate with others offering the same course for £130+. We are also able to spread course payment to meet the needs of individuals.

Domestic Chainsaw Course

I know this is a slightly random post to the Bolney Blog but I just wondered if it might be of interest?

Would anyone be interested in joining me on a 1 day "Domestic chainsaw use and maintenance course" at Plumpton College at some stage in the next couple of months? Currently have 2 people but need minimum 4, maximum 8. Please get in touch if you're interested.

Next mobile waste collection

HOUSEHOLD AND GARDEN WASTE

There will be 2 vehicles for collections at the Rawson Institute on the following date.  One is for household waste and one for garden waste.

Sunday 7^th October 2012                 10.00am – 12.00 midday  

Collections are no longer paid for by WSCC so will be funded by the parish council.  Please support the use of this service if you’d like it to continue and encourage others to use it too.  Further collections will only take place if it is well used.
